What is drama therapy?
Drama therapy is the use of theatre processes for a therapeutic purpose. You DO NOT have to be an actor to participate and benefit. Theatre uses many different processes. It can be done through the use of something as simple as doodling. It can include drawing, painting, collage, crafting, photography, music, poetry, script writing, scene study, interviewing, storytelling, improv, cinema, and sometimes it is just about watching. Drama and theatre are where all the arts meet and integrate to facilitate a more embodied experience. [INSERT}Why is an embodied experience so important?
Drama therapy involves processes you already do on a daily basis without even realizing it. Without a doubt, this is something you CAN do. Every group and session is customized to meet the needs of its unique participants and the group personality that forms when we come together.
